Yellow Dock Root

<< < (4/4)

cschambers:
It is funny how this is the herb posted in the forum today because just yesterday as I walked around an area of our property, I discovered Yellow Dock growing wild down by the creek.  Yay!  I had planned on finding some to transplant and grow and who knew I already had it growing!

tlwilcox37:
I have so many of these beautiful plants in my yard.  However, most of what I have read says that one should harvest the root for tincture, in the fall, as that is when it is most potent.  Any thoughts or experience with this?  I'd like to do harvest them now if it is OK.

Bt:
At our last herb meeting, yellow dock kept coming up.  One of our members had found she'd been drawn to yellow herbs.  Another brought information about its nature as a tonic.  I asked if anyone could bring me some from their land, since I really want to grow it.  I have an affinity for it for my skin and for liver support.  I also asked if anyone could tell me how to identify it--I know curly dock, but I'm not sure about yellow dock.

Then I came home from our meeting, and got my Red Moon Herbs newsletter saying this month's topic is--yellow dock.  Synchronicity.  Thanks for the contest!
