Infusions
« on: February 27, 2012, 05:46:01 PM »
Infusions are a great way to prepare herbs as they extract nutrients, vitamins & minerals and medicinal properties in and easy to assimilate form.  They are a great way to get your "greens".

HOW TO PREPARE INFUSION:
1 cup dried herb to 1 Quart boiling water
Brew for 4+ hours with lid
Can store in refrigerator for 2-3 days
Sever warm or cold, may sweeten with honey.
Drink 1 Pint/day

Some favorites for Infusions:
Nettle
Oatstraw
Comfrey
Raspberry

Who else likes to make infusions and what do you use them for?

I love infusions with all my heart! They are probably my favorite way to benefit from herbs, I drink them while I'm at work, nourishing me while quenching my thirst and they are so easy to make. My favorite is nettle, but I love oatstraw too. Red Raspberry leaf is great to make when I know my bleeding time is coming.
