Sterility promoter - Jack in the Pulpit
« on: December 15, 2011, 11:01:29 PM »
I'm looking for Jack in the Pulpit root to use as a sterility promoter.  I am tired of throwing money away on BC, and I wish to do this naturally as I don't have any desire for children even into my 30's.  I live in California where the plant is not native, thus I can't just find it myself.  Does anyone know where I can obtain the dried root, or does anyone have advice for another remedy?

Hello,

Jack in the pulpit root is native to the eastern US, ranging from Minnesota to Florida. There are accounts of native people's using the dried and powdered root as a sterility promoter. Much caution and research needs to be taken, as the plant contains poisonous compounds the can cause burning and swelling in the mouth, throat, and digestive tract. You can refer to Susun Weed's The Childbearing Year for more information on Jack in the pulpit root.

Blessings,
Jenna Rose
