DANDELION ROOT

I recently traveled to Ecuador and the cities and mountains were covered in dandelion. It grew as their grass and the intensively grazed their dairy cattle all over these areas. I felt the subtle transformative energies of this wonderful, overlooked herb. I realized that this is an amazing adaptogen that grows most places around the world and we should really pay attention to that. It offers itself so widely yet is treated mostly as a nuisance. I am trying to get more growing here on my herb farm but it is so hesitant. I have only one plant that comes up everyyear...on 18 acres! Maybe time to order some seed! :o

I live on a ridge in Henderson county that is covered with our friends, the dandelion. Oddly, I have never harvested them, just let them grow, watched the bees dance upon their brightness and noticed their leaves nibbled by some invisible critter. In short I love them but have never taken the tincture! I have put some greens in a salad however. I was very excited to read about the properties of this wonderful plant, and would love to try the tincture. You have inspired me to perhaps try to make some myself at some point....thanks for the info and inspiration!

I am new to the forum (and the website).  I am so grateful to find a place to learn and talk about native herbs with like minded people! 
I have foraged for Dandelion root for several seasons now, and make my own tinctures. I, however, would LOVE to try Red Moon Herb's dandelion tincture! 
Isn't it amazing that a plant most people on earth would call an unstoppable weed is such an amazing medicinal herb?  I use dandelion to treat eczema among other things, which I have had since I was a child.  I used to be forced to buy prescription strength hydrocortisone, but have found that dandelion works even better.  I take a dropper of two in my water every morning and have not had an issue with it since. 

STARGAZER:
 I live in Florida. Dandelions are all ove during spring. My kids and I love to pick them. I have heard you can roast them after cleaning and grind up as coffee. I havent tried it yet. Plan on doing so this summer. I have eaten the leaves in a salad and they were delish. Amazing how so many people go around unnoticing how many plants are medicinal and edible. Instead of thinking they are all WEEDS. I seen some beautiful flowers growing in a ditch one time and said I wanted to pick them to my mother in law who responded back with "what those weeds?" I was like UGH!! Not everyone has the knowledge or understanding of the plants and earth. Lost knowledge  of the wise and hopefully we will all know this in the future.  :D

I have some dandelion coming up right now under a tree I was planning to plant with Turk's Cap, but you've just given me the idea to let the dandelion keep growing and maybe spreading.  I'm planning to take out a lot of my lawn.  I'm in Texas and the current drought has me wanting a very small lawn.  Thanks!
